Privacy Policy

The Quiet Critic is operated by Cook and Company Coaching Inc.(“we,” “us”), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is short because we collect very little.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you enter it to receive The Nightly Revision, together with the date you subscribed.
• Email engagement — whether a message was delivered, opened, or bounced — reported to us by our email provider so we can tell whether the letters are arriving.
• Ordinary server logs kept by our host, such as IP address and browser type, for security and abuse prevention.
• Your mobile number, only if you separately and explicitly opt in to text messages. See our SMS Terms. We do not ask for a phone number to subscribe by email.

What we do not collect

We run no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, and no third-party trackerson this site. We do not build a profile of you, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not use cookies for advertising.

Why we collect it

Solely to deliver the practice you asked for and to operate and secure the site. We do not use your address for anything you did not ask for.

Who processes it

• Resend — stores our subscriber list and delivers the email.
• Vercel — hosts the site and serves the audio.

These providers process data on our instructions. Data may be stored or processed outside Canada, including in the United States.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address or any other personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe, or until you ask us to delete it. Unsubscribing stops the messages; ask us and we will remove the record entirely.

Your choices

Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, honoured immediately with no confirmation step and no attempt to talk you out of it. You may also email paul@cookandcompany.ai to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. If you have opted in to text messages, reply STOP to any message to end them.

Children

This service is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where the change affects how we use your information, tell subscribers by email.
